Steering Committee Strategy

The Steering Committee bases its work on the following strategy:

  1. The SC undertakes all steps to be fully aware of technological challenges that are necessary to deploy Smart Grids in Europe.  The SC uses the knowledge of real experience and ensures the support of the most relevant European companies in the matter of R&D within Smart Grids.
  2. The SC develops and updates SmartGrids research agendas, including priorities looking at 2035 and beyond, gaining endorsement to them of the full Smart Grid Technology Platform constituency.
  3. The SC monitors the implementation of the SmartGrids R&D agenda and suggest corrections, if necessary
  4. The SC leverages successful SmartGrids technology working groups for preparation of new R&D agendas
  5. The SC maintains a close link with the full Smart Grid Technology Platform constituency by SmartGrids General Assemblies
  6. The SC sets up robust processes for mandating and renewing the SG ETP steering committee constituency, its president and its supporting secretariat and experts including their funding.
